BECOME A SPEAKER WITH ROCKSTAR CONFIDENCE

BY LEARNING HOW TO SING

This is presentation coaching with a difference - using breath, movement and singing to develop vocal confidence and your own unique presence. The outcome will be the ability to own a space and be heard.

Most confidence training teaches people to perform confidence — to stand differently, think differently, shift their pitch to sound more ‘serious’ — to fake it until they feel it. But pretending takes you away from authenticity, and audiences can feel that disconnect. Real confidence grows when you have the courage to be yourself.

Your breath is the foundation. Your body is the vehicle. Your voice is who you are.

About Susie Wilkins

Hi, I'm Susie.

I spent years as a performer crippled by stage fright and panic disorder. What transformed me wasn't mindset hacks — it was breath, body and voice. I now teach the same tools to help others find the confidence to be heard.

I'm a composer, performer and vocal coach with 30 years of experience. My music has featured on BBC, Sky Atlantic, ITV, Channel 4 and in US promos for Grey's Anatomy and How to Get Away With Murder. I've performed at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, and I’m a mentor for Help Musicians, and an incoming MMus postgraduate student at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

I'm passionate about helping shy people find their voice.

The
Methodology

Breathe. Move. Sing.

A three-stage framework for nervous system regulation and authentic vocal expression, grounded in polyvagal theory and somatic practice.

We begin with breath — using evidence-based techniques including extended exhalation, the physiological sigh and box breathing to activate the vagus nerve and shift the body from threat mode into safety.

From safety, we move — releasing physical tension through somatic exercises that return awareness to the body and open the posture authentically, without performance.

And from that grounded, open state, we sing — warming the voice, finding its natural resonance and presence, and discovering that the instrument was always there.

The framework is built on a simple but profound idea: regulation precedes expression. You cannot fully access your voice from a dysregulated nervous system. And yet singing is not simply the destination — it is also part of the journey. The vagus nerve innervates the larynx, which means that humming, singing and vocal expression are themselves powerful regulators. Safety enables the voice. And the voice deepens safety.

The same voice that learns to sing in a room full of people is the voice that walks into a boardroom and owns it.

When people sing, they control their breath. The process of singing requires expanding the duration of exhalation. During the exhalation phase of breathing, there is an increase in the effectiveness of the myelinated vagal efferent pathways on the heart. This explains how singing or playing a wind instrument would contribute to a calmer physiological state and provide greater access to the social engagement system.
